Authors Notes

These notes have been taken from the final two pages of Balancing Your Opportunities.

Utilizing Your Competence

This is your last chapter in a long journey of self discovery and management tricks,  and at this final stage of authoring, there is one thing I have discovered. You’re never to old to implement your ideas.

The entire contents of Balancing Your Opportunities has the capacity to offer you a clear edge over your nearest competitors. It is a tool you can refer to at any time in your future, regardless of where you’re at in a cycle. Words on a piece of paper are only a single resource of the many contributions that make up your professional existence. Knowledge is power, and if you have the capacity to accurately recall any part of this curriculum on command, you will have earned the competence to “get it right” most of the time.

Your future direction will be of your own doing. You are the captain of your own ship and your status will revolve around your demeanour and how you think. You have learnt how to deal with stress and fear, and how to appropriately present yourself.

You now know how to plan your own happiness. The orientation of your mental state invariably extends across your family and friends which is often influenced by activities in your daily work environment.

Logical yet creative analytical thinking, without losing the ability to dream and visualize is an essential quality of good executive directors. By onlookers you may be seen as an exceptional performer, and that’s exactly what you become. It’s the elite ability to accurately identify feasible limits and parameters to which you can comfortably extend your activities. Best practice is to confine exposure to within an equitable comfort zone.

You should be equally aggressive as being apprehensive, and be able to quickly know which way to orient your assertiveness. When you are confronted by mediating a dispute, take the complainant first to hear the overall issues. Don’t listen to the accused until you have heard the complaint. Your response can be of introducing a totally new and innovative concept.

Using analytical and spatial techniques, you can quickly diagnose the feasibility of a complaint and visualize a satisfactory resolution.

You should now have the ability to rapidly employ directives that quickly empower one with happiness; change their mood and make them feel better.

Achieve that and you will have been filled with something great. It is those unique powers that bring about cooperation at the highest level. Practicing what you expect your mentor would do, makes you the mentor, doesn’t it?

I expect you will have reinforced your retention again. You now possess the qualities of an inspiring, well educated mover and shaker. How effectively you use these tools will be up to you, the captain.

The Author

I was enjoying my activities as a licensed self employed business broker, public speaker and marketing agent, when at 59 was diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer. In the presence of my wife and one of my sons we were told I had only sixteen weeks to live.

My endeavours became a lot simpler. Monetary wealth meant a lot less. I learnt one could have abundant financial wealth, and could still die prematurely. So the theme became help your fellow man. Nothing more than good health and happiness, and help your fellow man, whether you know them or not.

In conclusion I would like to say this:

I dedicate this book to my two son’s, Damien and Matthew and their wives, Karla and Letitia. Equally important, to my grandchildren, Jacob Michael Abbie Isaac, Keilan and Marcus.

To my Godson Luke, his brother Jason, and their parents Mick and Kerrie, whom I hope, and know will practice the good-will intended in this work piece.

This entire learning package has been collated for only one reason. It’s an attempt to help everybody that studies it. To assist and guide them to a long and more prosperous, healthier and happier life.

I am a very lucky person to have been privileged enough, to have lived during the same time as they have.

May almighty one, have his hand upon you all ~ forever.
