If the job provider has 50 or 60 resume's in front of them, then how do you think they get to a short list? They delete the one's that don't look as good as the others. Fifty will be deleted, and the ten that's left will be the short list. From there another five will be deleted, leaving the final five for consideration. But only one will get the job. More c/v's are used to throw you out than are used to give you the opportunity. It make sense to understand that. So when preparing your resumé make sure it shows them you are exactly the person they are looking for. Many employment agencies use scanners on your resumé to look for key words that are used in the job providers industry. If your c/v doesn't contain those words then you will be excluded from the competition. Most companies and businesses have their own websites, so it makes sense to visit their site to become familiar with their goals, achievements and terminology. That way, when you are sitting through your interview, you will be more able to talk about their business than those that just turn up. Getting a job is selling yourself. Click here for more ideas. |
